The Town of Flower Mound is 40.9 square miles of heavily wooded hills on the shores of Lake Grapevine in south

For shopping, Flower Mound is located only minutes away from Grapevine Mills mall in Grapevine with more than 1.5
million square feet of retail space and Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville with over 160 stores.

Flower Mound is served by Lewisville ISD, but a small portion in the western part of the town is served by Denton ISD
and Northwest ISD. Higher education is available at more than 35 institutions within easy commuting distance. More
than 72% of the adult population of Flower Mound has some higher education.

Flower Mound is named after a prominent, 12.5-acre mound once covered with blue stem grasses and a variety of
indigenous flowers. Historians believe the mound was a sacred ceremonial ground used by Wichita Indians dating back
to the early 1800s. This unusual piece of land, located near the intersection of FM 3040 and FM 2499, is now a
historical site.

Flower Mound is situated at the south edge of Denton County, Texas. The town is 23 miles northwest of Dallas, 28
miles northeast of Fort Worth and five miles north of DFW International Airport, making it “ten minutes from anywhere in
the world.”

Flower Mound is located in Denton County, the fastest-growing county in the State of Texas. The county is 957 square
miles of mostly rolling hills. The county’s three lakes cover more than 69 square miles.

The town consists of a young, rapidly growing and affluent populace. Over 72 percent of the adult population has had
post-secondary education.

Annually, more than 1,100 building permits are issued for new single-family homes, priced from $115,000 to $500,000.
Existing housing is available from the 100’s to over $2.3 million.

The estimated number of single-family housing units in 2001 was 15,499 and the number of multi-family units was 660.
An additional 3,807 lots are currently zoned and projected for residential development.

Located between Lake Grapevine and Lewisville Lake, and blessed with heavily wooded hills, panoramic views, and an
abundance of creeks and shorelines, Flower Mound offers unlimited recreational and leisure activities. Home to two
nationally recognized golf courses, Tour 18 and Bridlewood, and only minutes from Grapevine Mills Mall, featuring more
than 250 outlet stores, an ice rink, and a 30-screen theater, residents and visitors have numerous entertainment
choices.

More than ten miles of nationally recognized multipurpose trails connect parks and neighborhoods, and provide citizens
easy access while walking, running, cycling, skating or horseback riding. Once completed, the trail system will connect
all public and park facilities within the town.

The town’s parks and recreation facilities include a system of parks encompassing 238.5 acres of developed parks and
an additional 174.3 acres for future expansion, offering a variety of playscapes, covered picnic shelters, cooking grills,
multipurpose trails, basketball play pads and ball fields. The 33 parks throughout the community are a great way to
enjoy a variety of scenery and activities.

Sports enthusiasts enjoy youth and adult softball, baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball and flag football leagues that are
run throughout the year. A new, lighted ball field complex, Gerault Park, and a new 25,000-square-foot freestanding
library, have recently been completed.

Flower Mound’s proximity to the Dallas Metroplex opens a wealth of recreational and cultural opportunities, including
Texas Motor Speedway, Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor, Texas Stadium, The Ballpark in Arlington, and the symphony
halls and art museums of Dallas and Fort Worth.
